dc.description.abstract	영국의 성인돌봄서비스 종사자 자격체계는 다음과 같은 특징을 지닌다. 첫째, 자격 기준 설정 및 개발에 산업별 고용자 단체가 주도적인 역할을 담당하여, 현장에서 필요한 직무 역량을 자격 기준에 적극적으로 반영한다. 둘째, 각 자격은 전문 분야에 특화되도록 다양한 선택과목으로 구성된다. 셋째, 견습제도가 활성화되어 있으며 자격과 긴밀하게 연결된다. 넷째, 자격 취득에 긴 시간이 소요된다. 이는 자격 취득 요건이 엄격하고 대부분의 종사자들이 근무를 하면서 자격 과정을 병행하기 때문으로 보인다. 다섯째, 성인돌봄 분야는 의료 및 간호 영역의 자격과 달리 돌봄종사자를 주 대상으로 함에도 의료 및 간호 관련 과목을 다수 포함하고 있다. 여섯째, 현장직에서 관리자로 성장하는 구조를 자격체계에서 명시적으로 보여 준다. 한국에서 성인돌봄 분야의 돌봄 종사자가 현장 중심의 역량을 강화하고 서비스 품질을 향상할 수 있도록 자격체계를 개선하기 위하여 영국 자격체계의 특징을 다음과 같이 반영할 필요가 있다. 먼저, 자격과 업무 역량이 인사체계와 유기적으로 매칭되어야 한다. 다음으로, 자격 취득을 위한 조건을 강화하고 다양한 역량을 갖출 수 있도록 해야 한다. 마지막으로, 입직 후 장시간 교육을 받아 상위 자격을 취득하도록 유도하기 위해 교육비 지원, 근로시간 인정 등의 제도적 지원이 필요하다.
