KIHASA’s
Open Access Repository Policy
The Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs (KIHASA) aims to contribute to making Korea a safer and happier society by surveying, researching, and analyzing population, social, and economic conditions, and by establishing and supporting social policies and social security systems to improve the health and welfare of the people.
The institute supports the value of open access to share and utilize research results, and to realize this, the institute establishes and promotes an open access policy for its institutional repository as follows:
- 1The research outputs of KIHASA shall be defined as work and outputs authored by employees of KIHASA.
- 2In principle, KIHASA shall disclose all its research results, including its official research outcomes, as open access. However, exceptions are made for materials that have not secured copyright for disclosure.
- 3Any use of any part of KIHASA’s research works must cite the original author and must be for non-commercial purposes.
- 4KIHASA shall endeavor to release all research outcomes whose authors are KIHASA employees to open access.
- 5Research outputs produced after the approval of this policy are subject to this policy. However, research outputs that predate the approval of this policy may be included if they can be disclosed, such as when copyright restrictions are removed.
- 6Details related to open access not covered by this policy should be discussed with the institutional repository office.
