Abstract
This study was aimed at examining the effect of a women’s health leader education program on personal competence of health care, health promoting life style profile Ⅱ and metabolic syndrome for middle-aged women in an urban area. The subject group consisted of 22 women aged between 40 and 60. The education program 10 weeks session consisted of a 2hours class each week. from June 27th to July 25th, 2012. Pre-and post-education tests were collected after each session. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 19.0 program with frequency, means, ANOVA, standard deviation, Paired t-test. Result: The were significant changes in Personal competence of health care, BP and waist circumference. but no significant changes Health promoting life style profileⅡ. Conclusions: This study showed that a women’s health leader education program has partially positive effects for middle aged women. Based on this study, a continuous health leader education program through a community health center is needed for middle aged women.
