Determinants of Users' Satisfaction with Social Care Services

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze determinants of users’ satisfaction with Korean social care services. Four social care services, including elderly care and daily activity assistance for the disabled, were used to investigate the levels of utilization and satisfaction of unit services such as physical assistance, emotional support, household service, and nursing care service. The t-Test, analysis of variance, and regression analysis were made by using a survey of 500 random samples. The analysis shows that among management factors the overall satisfaction with social care services is related with service providers’ research on users’ demand and compliance of service time. The analysis also finds a positive relationship between the overall satisfaction with social care services and the unit-service satisfaction with household support and emotional support. This result demonstrates empirically that the emotional support is important in social care services.
