The Relationships of the Caregiving Awareness, Caregiving Appraisal for Middle-aged and Senescent Life Plans

Abstract

This paper was to explore the relations of the caregiving awareness, caregiving appraisal for middle-aged and their senescent life plans and the effects of caregiving awareness and caregiving appraisal for aged parents of on plans for their senescent life. This survey was conducted from March, 2011 to June, 2011 and 323 responses from the survey were used for the analysis. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, pearson correlation and Multiple Regression. The research findings could be summarized as the following. First, the mean score of senescent life plan and caregiving awareness were higher than average and the mean score of caregiving appraisal was a little lower than average. Second, among the main factors, caregiving awareness was the significant predictor to explain senescent life plan and it was totally related with physical. emotional, economical subscales of senescent life plan. Third, caregiving appraisal was the significant predictor to explain only the physical area of senescent life plan. Fourth, sex, age, marital state were the significant predictors which have the effectiveness to the senescent life plan.
