Abstract
Using a sample of 102 dyads of nurses who are working in local medium size hospitals and patients who are under their care, this study aims to review the relationship between perceived transformational leadership(TFL) and quality of nurses’ care service(QNCS) as organization citizenship behavior(OCB) of nurses as a moderator. Based on Wortzel’s idea(1979) arguing that the result is highly reliable if the Cronbach’ α value is between 0.70 and 0.98, the scales were proved to have the reliabilities through the results(TFL = .902-.912, OCB = .893-906, and QNCS = .894). TFL of managers(including medical doctors) was proved to have a significant effect on nurses’ OCB. And then, Sobel test was employed for mediation analysis of OCB on the relationship between TFL and QNCS, resulting that OCB produced some significant moderation effects on the relationships between TFL and QNCS. An important implication of this study’s findings is, consequently, that managers’ TFL should be positively enhanced for the purpose of increasing the level of QNCS through using the mediation role of nurses’ OCB.
