dc.description.abstract	한국의 생애말기 돌봄은 호스피스･완화의료 및 임종 과정에 있는 환자의 연명의료결정에 관한 법률에 따라 특정 질환의 진단을 요구하며, 입원형 서비스에 집중되어 있기 때문에 지역사회 내에서 제한적으로 생애말기 돌봄이 제공되고 있다. 반면에 미국의 생애말기 돌봄의 경우 특정 질환의 진단 여부에 따라 이용 대상이 제한되지 않고 있으며, 가정형 서비스가 가장 많이 제공하면서 생애말기 돌봄이 지역사회 재가 서비스의 일환으로 제공되고 있다. 이에 이 글에서는 미국의 생애말기 돌봄 정책을 세부적으로 살펴보고, 한국의 생애말기 돌봄에 대한 시사점을 논의한다.
dc.description.abstract	In Korea, end-of-life care is limited to individuals diagnosed with certain diseases and is primarily provided in inpatient settings, as outlined in the Act on Hospice and Palliative Care and Decisions on Life-Sustaining Treatment for Patients at the End of Life, remaining mostly unavailable in community settings. In contrast, end-of-life care in the US is not restricted to certain diseases and is commonly delivered in community-based settings, including individuals’ homes. This article examines the US end-of-life care policy in detail and explores its implications for policymaking in Korea.
