| dc.description.abstract | 심각한 저출산 현상에 직면하여 이민의 역할에 주목해야 한다는 목소리가 커지고 있지만, 현재까지 이민이 인구학적으로 어떠한 파급 효과를 초래할 것인지에 관한 심층적인 논의는 매우 부족하다. 이민 과정의 복잡성, 자료의 활용 가능성, 불충분한 이론 등으로 인해 현재까지도 이민은 분석과 전망이 매우 어려운 인구학적 주제이다. 2000년대 이후 20년 이상 지속된 초저출산과 이로 인한 인구 고령화 및 감소가 진행 중인 상황에서 이 연구는 이민이 ‘인구학적으로’ 어떠한 파급 효과를 초래할 것인지를 분석한다. 또한 이민이 인구학적으로 초래하는 파급 효과에 기초하여 인구변동에 대응하는 방안으로서 이민의 가능성과 한계를 진단하고 인구의 고령화와 감소에 대응하는 정책 방향과 과제를 논의한다. |
| dc.description.abstract | This study addresses the impacts of international migration on macro-level population dynamics (population aging and decline) and micro-level patterns of demographic behavior (fertility and internal migration). It is well known that preventing the aging of populations with international migration is extremely difficult. This study finds that given the long-lasting lowest-low fertility in South Korea the magnitude of international migration needed to preserve the current population size is well beyond the reasonable range of migration flows. This study suggests that only a combination of policy measures such as fertility increase, investment and utilization of human resources, international migration, reforms of social systems may reduce the negative impacts of population aging and decline. |
