There are some young people who have to become adults as soon as they legally come of age at 18. Known as “Youth in Preparation for Independent Living,” these young people have to leave child care facilities when they reach adult status. They must start living on their own earlier than other youth their age. Our lives are like a ship on a voyage. It takes money to build a boat, and it takes learning to be able to steer a ship and read the weather. This video is dedicated to those young people who are about to embark on a lonely and precarious journey.
