Abstract
This infographics video delves into the pressing issue of worker health inequality in Korean society. As economic, gender, disability, and local inequalities persist, the disparities between workplaces have become a growing concern, leading to health disparities among workers. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the varying health risks and levels of protection faced by workers based on their occupations and workplace environments. The video explores the impact of employment type and employer size on health inequalities, shedding light on the poorer health outcomes and hazardous working conditions faced by workers in unstable employment and small businesses. Institutional factors, such as the frail social safety net and lax occupational safety and health practices, further exacerbate these inequalities. The video emphasizes the importance of strengthening employer responsibility, providing opportunities for worker participation, and enhancing institutional guarantees for workers' rights. Ultimately, the goal is to create a society where every individual has the right to rest when sick and where workers are not treated as disposable commodities. This video is brought to you by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs, committed to ensuring the well-being of all workers.
