Abstract
This video is a featurette on the topic of “young adults in social isolation and seclusion.” It explores the experiences of young adults who choose to isolate themselves from society and lack significant social connections beyond occasional interactions with family members or professional contacts. The video includes interviews with Kim Seonga, an associate research fellow with the KIHASA welfare state research group, Ryu Seung-kyu, CEO of Not Scary Co., and Kim Ok-lan, Director of the Blue Whale Recovery Center. The speakers discuss the challenges of identifying and supporting young adults in social isolation and seclusion, and provide advice for those seeking help or trying to help others. The video highlights the importance of understanding the difficult circumstances that lead to social isolation and seclusion, and the need for support centers and resources for those who experience these challenges.
