A study on strategies for responding to the agenda in the field of infectious diseases at the multilateral meeting

Abstract

○ This study aims to monitor global meetings about infectious diseases in multilateral organizations, improve response, and establish strategies for participating in multilateral organizations - More specifically, we monitored and analyzed discussions in the meetings of WHO and G20. - In addition, we consulted experts to establish a strategy for how we more actively participate in those meetings ○ This study analyzed major issues in WHO governing body and the G20 health working group - We analyzed and examined agendas at the 150th session of the WHO Executive Board and the 75th World Health Assembly, which are regular meetings of WHO, along with the 73rd Western Pacific Region Committee, and in the Intergovernmental Negotiating Bodies related to the Pandemic Treaty and IHR (2005) revision. - We analyzed and examined the infectious disease-related agenda and significant agreements at the G20 Health Working Group and Health Ministerial Meetings ○ Discussions on revising the International Health Regulations (2005) and harmonizing global digital health protocols for international movement have begun earnestly, and continuous observation is required. - At the 75th World Health Assembly, member states established the Working Group on Amendments to the International Health Regulations (2005) for targeted amendments to IHR(2005). - At the G20 Health Sector Meeting, member states discussed harmonizing global health protocol standards, such as COVID-19 certification, to promote safe international travel and accelerate economic recovery. - COVID-19 emphasizes strengthening pandemic preparedness and response and the WHO and G20 health sector discussions are continuously proceeding. We must have future response strategies and monitor critical issues.
