Abstract
The impact of fake news is very serious on the people in the unverified floods of information. In particular, false information and fake news on infectious diseases are related to human life, and the damage could be enormous in that misinformation may cause social confusions. Above all, in a situation where information is insufficient on infectious diseases such as COVID-19, perception of the influence of fake news through the media is the most remarkable subject of researches. Korea has already experienced a situation of fake news spreading online about prevention and vaccine of COVID-19, and it is necessary to review technical methods to quickly cope with it. The purpose of this study is, based on machine learning, to analyze the data on the method of detecting fake news in the field of health and social welfareand to discuss related issues. As the importance of fake news detection is highlighted in the health and social welfare sector, several issues accompanying the fake news detection through machine learning need to be discussed in order to improve the policy utilization of models established through machine learning.
