Abstract
The current article attempts to understand the multicultural inclusivity in Korean society from the perspective of migrants. Among the concepts of multicultural inclusivity, the diversity dimension and relational dimension were dealt with, and differences in thoughts between Koreans and migrants were investigated.
Regarding ‘cultural openness’ and ‘intention to interact’, migrants perceive Koreans to be more receptive than Koreans do. However, migrants perceive that Koreans are less receptive than Koreans’ thoughts in terms of ‘national identity’, ‘stereotypes’, ‘assimilation expectations’, and ‘rejection/avoidance’. From the point of view of migrants, Koreans think that they are open to interacting with migrants and the increasing number of different races and cultures in Korea but migrants don't feel receptive as receptive as Koreans’ thoughts. Implications are provided based on the differences and tendencies of thinking between migrants and Koreans.
