Abstract: 본 연구는 남편과 아내의 성역할 인식과 가정생활 만족도의 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증하는데 있어 커플자료의 특성을 반영하고, 각 변수들의 행위자 효과와 상대자 효과를 고려하여 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이러한 연구목적 하에 APIMeM 모형을 적용하여 분석하였으며, 한국보건사회연구원의 한국복지패널 13차 자료의 3,294쌍의 부부 자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 분석 결과, 남편의 성역할 인식이 유연할수록 자신의 자아존중감은 높아졌지만 아내의 자아존중감에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 아내의 경우, 성역할 인식과 자아존중감 사이의 행위자, 상대자 효과가 모두 유의하였다. 아내의 성역할 인식이 유연할수록 남편과 자신의 가정생활 만족도는 모두 높아졌지만, 남편의 성역할 인식은 부부의 가정생활만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 매개효과 검증 결과, 남편의 자아존중감은 부부의 성역할 인식이 부부의 가정생활 만족도에 미치는 행위자 효과와 상대자 효과에 모두 순기능적으로 매개하였음을 알 수 있었다. 하지만 남편의 성역할 인식은 아내의 자아존중감에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못하였고, 이로 인하여 아내의 자아존중감은 남편의 성역할 인식을 매개하여 가정생활 만족도에 영향을 미치지 못하였다.

The purpose of this study is to verify the mediated effects of self-esteem on the relationship between the gender role perception and the family life satisfaction of both husband and wife, considering the actor effect and partner effect of each variable from dyadic data. For this purpose, we applied the APIMeM model for analysis using the Korea Welfare Panel’s 13th wave dataset of 3,294 couples. According to the results, the husband’s self-esteem tended to increase as his perception of gender roles became more flexible, but his gender awareness had no significant effect on wife’s self-esteem. When it comes to wife, the effects of both actors and partners on the relationship between gender awareness and self-esteem was significant. The more flexible the wife's perception of gender role, the higher the family life satisfaction level of both the husband’s and wife’s. However, it was found that there were no significant mediated effect of wife’s self-esteem between the husband’s perception of gender roles and family life satisfaction for both because the husband’s perception of gender roles did not have a statistically significant effect on wife's self-esteem.
