Abstract
설문조사 데이터에서 가구원 및 가구관련 각종 지표에 대한 조사는 일반적으로 대리보고를 통해 이루어진다. 이는 건강에 대한 조사에서도 예외가 아니며 그간 실증연구들에서는 건강에 대한 대리보고와 자기보고 간의 일치정도, 대리보고와 자기보고의 결정요인 등에 대해 고찰을 해 왔다. 하지만 우리나라에서는 이에 관한 연구가 거의 전무하다. 본 연구는 이러한 공백을 메꾸고자 하였고 특히 아동건강에 초점을 맞추어 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위해 아동부가조사를 통해 일부 아동의 건강에 대한 자기보고를 조사하는 한국복지패널 데이터를 이용하였다. 일단 Polychoric 상관계수와 Cohen의 kappa값 등의 기술통계지표를 통해 분석한 결과 아동건강에 대한 자기보고와 대리보고 간의 일치정도는 상당히 낮은 것으로 드러났다. 더 나아가 아동, 대리보고인, 가구 관련 변수들을 설명변수로 이용하여 순위프로빗모형 등에 대해 회귀분석을 실시한 결과 두 지표의 결정요인들은 상당히 상이한 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 보면 향후 아동건강지표의 측정 시 최소한 십대 아동의 경우에는 기존의 대리보고에 더해 자기보고도 측정하는 것이 중요하다고 생각한다. 두 지표는 대체재라기보다는 보완재일 가능성이 크기 때문이다.
In the survey data, information on household and household members are usually collected through proxy reports. With no exception to health survey, empirical research have investigated the extent of agreement between proxy- and self-reported health and the determinants of proxy- and self-reported health. However, research on the topic hardly exists in Korea. This work attempts to fill the gap with a special focus on child health, using the Korea Welfare Panel Study. Polychoric correlation coefficient and Cohen’ kappa show the fairly low degree of correlation between proxy- and self-reported child health. Further, the factors that determine proxy- and self-reported child health are clearly different from each other, judging from the ordered probit and probit regression analyses. From this observation, we propose to collect both proxy- and self-reported health, at least for adolescents since two measurements are likely to be complements rather than substitutes.
