Abstract
This study attempt to summarize the trajectory and achievements of the Korean welfare state since the days of democratization and the Asian Financial Crisis, and to discuss the path-dependent nature and limitations of such evolution, with a view to finding policy implications for the future growth of the Korean welfare state.
