dc.description.abstract | 동유럽 국가들은 20세기 마지막 20년 동안 급속한 사회·경제적 전환 과정 속에서 극도로 높은 자살률을 보였다. 예를 들어 리투아니아의 1996년 연령표준화 자살률은 10만 명당 44.3명에 달했다. 이 기간 동유럽 국가들의 자살률은 변동 폭도 컸다. 자살률이 가장 높았던 때로부터 2000년대 들어 자살률이 감소하기까지 그 감소 폭이 가장 큰 국가는 헝가리(64%)였으며, 가장 작은 국가는 폴란드(9%)였다. 또한 동유럽은 세계에서 여성 자살률 대비 남성 자살률의 비(比)가 가장 높다(동유럽 평균 5.0 이상, 폴란드 7.0). 자살예방 활동, 알코올정책, 경제·정치 개발의 영향 등이 동유럽 자살률에 영향을 미친 것으로 보인다. |
