Abstract
일본 국립사회보장·인구문제연구소가 지난 8월 1일에 발표한 ‘2015년 사회보장비용통계’에 따르면 일본의 2015년 사회지출은 119조 2,000억 엔으로 2014년의 116조 5,000억 엔에서 2.3％ 증가했다. 한편 사회보장급여비는 2015년에 114조 9,000억 엔으로 2014년 급여비(112조 2,000억엔)보다 2.4％ 더 많이 지출됐으며, 과거 최고 지출 규모를 갱신했다. 이처럼 사회지출과 사회보장급여비가 증가한 가장 큰 이유로는 고령화의 진전과 이로 인한 연금, 의료, 개호 부문 등의 지출 증가를 들 수 있다.
