Abstract
This study mainly examines the mediating effect of service orientation in the relationship between musculoskeletal symptoms and the pro-social behavior of elderly care facility employees. For this study, we investigated through mails and visits to target a total of 400 employees at 80 facilities in Seoul. Of these, 302 employees at 61 facilities responded to the survey, and we used the responses from 295 employees for the final analysis. Major findings of our mediated regression analysis are as follows. First, musculoskeletal symptoms had a statistically significant impact on pro-social behavior. Second, when we put together the musculoskeletal symptoms and service orientation, only service orientation had an impact. As a result, service orientation parameters turned out to be the perfect mediating effect. Based on this, this study proposed a management plan musculoskeletal symptoms and ways to improve the service orientation to enhance the pro-social behavior of employees in elderly care facilities.
