Title: Gender Equality Indicators in Health Domain for Selected Countries and Their Policy Implications for Korea

Abstract: 건강형평성을 제고하는데 있어 사실을 파악하기 위한 도구로서 지표와 지수는 중요한 역할을 수행한다. 그간 국제기구와 여러 국가는 다양한 젠더 형평성 지수를 산출해 왔으며 국가 간 비교, 국내 추이 파악 등 다양한 목적을 달성했다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다. 하지만 건강 부문의 지표들은 건강의 결정요인을 비롯한 국가의 다양한 사회경제적 맥락을 고려하지 못한 한계가 존재한다. 향후에는 남녀 간 건강 격차를 해소하기 위한 전략 수립과 더불어 건강 부문에 대한 심도 있는 이해를 바탕으로 한 지수를 산출해야 할 것이다.
