Health inequities is not just concerned with health care; rather, it is an issue of fairness and social justice. Health policies based on health inequities have been recognized as important public health issues for the decades. Evidence presented in Kim et al(2014), and many other evidence based analyses of health inequities show social gradients in health outcomes, which closely relate to social determinants of health in Korea. As the third period study of a multi-year project monitoring health inequities, this study is aimed to develop the strategies and programmes for health equities in Korea. This report contains recommendations and analysis to minimize and eliminate health inequities in core health areas; tobacco, alcohol, physical activity, nutrition, suicide, the early childhood, the poor, and vulnerable areas.
