Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out the factors influencing Medicaid case managers’ competence level by factoring in personal characteristics, self-efficacy and organizational traits. Data were collected by structured questionnaires from 403 nurses working as Medicaid case managers from April 8 to April 15, 2011 and final analyzed subjects were 280 Medicaid case managers. Data were analyzed by frequency, descriptive statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA and Scheffe‘s test, Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple regression with SPSS for window version 15.0. The result of analysis, as the personal characteristics, Medicaid case managers who are in elder age group with long work experience showed high work performance competence and managers who have high self-efficacy showed high work performance competence. As the Organizational characteristics, Medicaid case managers who are recognized as experts on the field and who get better executive support also showed high performance competence. Influencing Factors on the Work Performance Competence of Medicaid case managers were age, work experience, self-efficacy, recognized as experts on the field and executive support.
