Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of social support on the relationship between motivation to change and quality of life among alcoholics. The subjects of this study were 210 alcoholics. Structural Equation Modeling in AMOS 20.0 was adopted to examine measurement model and mediating effects of social support by using Bootstrapping method. The results were as followings. First, motivation to change of subjects didn’t showed significant impact on the quality of life. Second, the analysis resulted confined the full mediation effects of social support in the relations between motivation to change and quality of life among alcoholics. Based on these findings suggested that social work intervention service should be discussed to increase social support for the recovering process among alcoholics.
