Abstract
There is a serious concern for the quality of the long term care service due to high turnover rate of the longterm care workers. This study tried to find out the effect of job stress on turnover intention of the longterm care workers in Seoul area. The job stressors were measured with stress on role conflict, work load, organizational change, salary level, fringe benefit system, colleague relation and client relation. The findings show very high turnover intention and job stress level. The level of client relation stress was the highest. And the level of job stress lessened in order of the stress on organizational change, colleague relation, role conflict, fringe benefit system and salary level. The job stress factors which significantly influenced turnover intention were stress on role conflict, work load, salary level and colleague relation. In order to reduce the job stress level and turnover intention, need for personal relationship skill building, establishing a careful plan for stabilizing the number of longterm care service providers, teamwork building and management of conflict was suggested.
