한국 동성애자의 건강관련 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인

Abstract

이 연구는 동성애자들 스스로 인지하고 평가한 건강관련 삶의 질에 인과적 영향을 미치는 결정요인들을 살펴보기 위하여, 신체적, 정신적, 사회적 건강으로 구성되는 ‘건강관련 삶의 질을 종속변인으로 하고, 자기효능감, 동성애 혐오감, 스트레스, 동성애자 확신기간 등의 개인적 요인에 관한 변인과 사회적 지지감 및 사회적 낙인감 변인, 사회 인구학적 특성 요인인 연령, 파트너유무, 교육수준 등의 환경적 요인에 관한 변인을 독립변인으로 하여 인과적 영향을 검증하고자 하였다. 분석결과, 동성애자 전체에서 사회적 지지감에 인과적 영향을 미치는 변인은 자기효능감, 동성애 혐오감, 스트레스였으며, 사회적 낙인감에 대해서는 자기효능감과 스트레스가 유의미한 변인인 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 신체적 건강에 영향을 미치는 인과요인으로는 동성애 혐오감과 스트레스였으며, 정신적 건강에 영향을 미치는 인과요인으로는 스트레스와 교육수준이 유의미하게 나타났고, 사회적 건강에 영향을 미치는 인과요인으로는 사회적 지지감, 자기효능감, 스트레스, 파트너 변인이 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 스트레스는 신체적·정신적·사회적 건강뿐만 아니라 건강 관련 삶의 질에도 직접적이고 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 건강관련 삶의 질에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 인과요인은 스트레스, 연령, 교육이었으며, 게이의 경우는 사회적지지, 자기효능감, 스트레스, 동성애 확신기간, 파트너였고, 레즈비언의 경우는 사회적지지, 동성에 혐오감, 스트레스, 교육이었다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of perceived social support, perceived social stigma, and self-esteem on health related quality of life of gay men and lesbians in korea. To achieve this purpose, a survey was conducted, and this sample was based on 237 gay men and lesbians. A sampling method was the snowball sampling using face to face interview. The main results testified by this study are as follows; First, the positive function of perceived social support effected on health related quality of life of gay men and lesbians. Second, perceived social stigma turned out not to be any effect on health related quality of life. Third, self-esteem influenced on health related quality of life. Fourth, homophobia proved to be positive effect on health related quality of life of lesbians. Fifth, stress had a significant negative casual effect on health related quality of life of gay men and lesbians. In conclusion, It’s necessary for future studies to more systematically investigate any other variables for a better understanding of the quality of life of gay men and lesbians.
