HIV 감염인 및 AIDS 환자의 건강관련 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인

Abstract

이 연구는 눈덩이 표집(snowball sampling)방법을 활용하여 선정된 HIV 감염 확진 후 최소 3개월 이상 된 20세 이상의 성인 남ㆍ녀 중 이 연구에 참여의사를 밝힌 자 251명을 대상으로 HIV 감염인 및 AIDS 환자의 건강관련 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 인과적 요인을 실증적으로 분석한 것이다. HIV 감염인 및 AIDS 환자의 건강관련 삶의 질에 인과적 영향을 미치는 변인은 사회적 지지, 사회적 낙인, 자기효능감, 질병인지, 스트레스, 연령, 미혼, 소득 등이었으며, 사회적 지지에 대한 지각수준이 높으면 건강관련 삶의 질적 수준이 높고, 사회적 낙인감이 심할수록 건강관련 삶의 질적 수준이 낮으며, 자기효능감이 높을수록 건강관련 삶의 질적 수준이 높고, 질병을 분명히 인지하고 있는 감염인들이 건강관련 삶의 질적 수준이 높으며, 스트레스를 많이 받을수록 건강관련 삶의 질적 수준이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 연령이 높을수록, 미혼자일수록 건강관련 삶의 질적 수준이 낮으며, 소득이 높은 감염인들은 건강관련 삶의 질적 수준이 높다는 것을 알 수 있다. HIV/AIDS에 관한 치료법이 지속적으로 개발되고 있어 HIV/AIDS는 치료를 받으면 누구나 건강하게 살 수 있는 만성질환이 되었음에도 불구하고 여전히 감염인들을 ‘적극적인 감시와 격리’의 대상으로 바라보는 시선이 가시질 않았다. 이는 사회적 소수자 및 사회적 약자에 대한 사회적 차원의 보이지 않는 폭력이라 해도 과언이 아닐 것이다. HIV/AIDS의 예방과 근절에 있어서 가장 우선적이면서 중요한 선결과제는 사회적 차별과 편견의 시선을 걷어내는 것임을 이 연구에서 다시 한번 확인할 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of social support, social stigma, self-esteem on health related quality of life in people living with HIV/AIDS in korea. To achieve this purpose, a survey was conducted, and this sample was based on 251 people living with HIV/AIDS. A sampling method was the snowball sampling using face to face interview. The main results of this study include the following. First, the positive function of social support effects on health related quality of life in people living with HIV/AIDS. Second, social stigma turns out to be negative effect on health related quality of life. Third, self-esteem influenced on health related quality of life. Fourth, knowing their illness proves to be positive effect on health related quality of life. Fifth, stress has a significant negative casual effect on health related quality of life in people living with HIV/AIDS. It is necessary for future research studies to investigate more variables systematically in order to understand the people living with HIV/AIDS and their quality of life.
