한국의 사회적 불안과 사회보장의 과제- 노인의 사회적 불안

Abstract

본 연구는 사회적 불안과 사회보장의 과제 3차 연도 연구로, 노인(65~74세)에 초점으로 두었다. 이에 따라, 노인의 사회적 불안을 수준과 영향을 미치는 요인들 그리고 대처기제를 포괄하여 살펴보는 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해, 전국의 만 65~74세 약 1,000명을 대상으로 「한국인의 사회적 문제 경험과 인식 조사」를 실시하였다. 설문조사 조사표에는 사회적 불안을 측정하는 다양한 문항과 개인불안을 측정하는 문항, 대처기제, 개인 및 사회적 사건 경험, 응답자 스스로에 대한 인식, 사회적 관계 등을 포함하였다.

연구 결과를 바탕으로 이 연구는 첫째, 노인의 사회적 불안에 대한 정기적인 모니터링 실시, 둘째, 사회적 불안이 높은 은퇴자 혹은 은퇴예정자의 노후준비 지원, 셋째, 사회관계망 강화를 통한 사회적 불안 감소, 넷째, 정보화기기 활용의 역기능적 측면을 예방 및 해소, 다섯째, 보편적인 관점에서 노인 관련 정신건강서비스 제공, 마지막으로, 집단별 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 정책 설계 및 패러다임 재구조화를 제시하였다.

This study aims to examine the current state of social unrest amongst elderly people in South Korea and to draw the policy implications. The study uses the same index on social unrest from the data set used to examine social unrest in young people in 2020. The questionnaire for collecting these data had age-specific adjustments. A survey was carried out open to those aged 65 to 74 across the nation; 1,000 individuals responded. The factor analysis method was utilized to identify the elements of the social unrest, and following elements were discerned: a) adaptation/ safety, b) injustice/competition, c) distrust/hopelessness, d) inequality. In addition, individual levels of social unrest, social unrest in terms of aging, perception of social unrest were used, as other elements of social unrest. Chapter 3 covers the results of investigating the levels of and the differences in the social unrest according to the demographic characteristics. Chapter 4 analyzes the relation between social unrest and income, along with the more general indicator of wealth. When it comes to the ‘adaptation/safety’ element of social unrest, the levels were higher in the first income quintile than those in the fourth quintile. Chapter 5 examines the way participants respond to a sense of fear and insecurity and identifies the moderating effects of social networks on the relationship between social participation and social unrest. The final chapter summarizes the findings of the earlier chapters and draws the policy implications.
