dc.description.abstract	영국에서는 코로나바이러스감염증-19(이하 코로나19) 팬데믹으로 인해 2021년 4월까지 약 440만 명의 환자가 발생했고, 약 15만 명이 사망하였다. 영국은 공중보건 위기 발생 시 과학자문단(SAGE: the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies)을 포함한 대응 체계가 사전에 갖추어져 있었음에도 대응 초기 과학자문단의 구성과 운영이 적절하지 않았다고 비판받았다. 이러한 비판을 바탕으로 과학자문단의 구성과 운영을 검토하고 개선하였다. 이 글에서는 영국의 코로나19 대응과 정부의 대응 체계를 과학 자문의 활용을 중심으로 살펴보고, 공중보건 위기 대응에서 과학 자문의 활용에 대한 시사점을 얻고자 한다.
