dc.description.abstract	21세기 초저출산 현상이 지속되면서 저출산 원인의 정확한 파악을 위해 많은 노력을 시도하고 있다. 출산력 변화를 이해하기 위해서는 자녀양육에 대한 어려움뿐만 아니라 개인의 가치관 변화에 주목해야 한다. 구체적으로 과거에 비해 결혼, 자녀 및 가족 가치관이 어떻게 변화되었는지 시계열적 변화를 통해 살펴봐야 되며, 개인의 포괄적 가치관 변화가 저출산에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는 것이 매우 중요하다. 금번 연구에서는 가치관과 출산 간의 연계성에 관하여 거시·미시적으로 접근하고자 한다. 이 연구의 결과는 결혼 및 출산가치관 변화 등에 관한 기초적인 학술연구 자료로 활용될 뿐만 아니라 저출산 원인 규명에 대한 정책 자료로 유용하게 활용될 것으로 기대된다.
dc.description.abstract	The idea of the Second Demographic Transition has gained ground among demographers who are interested in low fertility levels in developed countries. This perspective insists that people have more individualized attitudes about their life events such as careers, marriage and children. As they place more values on their own hopes and preferences, they tend to delay or avoid marriages and give less births. This study examines possible application of the Second Demographic Transition Theory by 1) analyzing the association between attitudes about marriage, children and gender roles and later childbearing behaviors and 2) tracking down the trends in attitudes about marriage and children in the 21st century. This study finds that how married women view marriage and children matters in their decisions about pregnancy and notices a recent large drop in the absoluteness of marriage even among married women, those who may be so favorable toward marriage. This study indicates that policies toward low fertility levels should pay attention to our perspectives about not just children but also competing events in life.
