Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of deprivation on the perception of inequality and to investigate the mediating effects of depression on the relationship between deprivation and perception of inequality. A mediating analysis of Baron and Kenny was conducted to analyze the data which were derived from Wave 8 (2013) of the Korea Welfare Panel Data. Main results are the following: firstly, level of perception of inequality was higher as the deprivation level was higher. Secondly, level of depression concerning this relationship manifested the effect of mediating in parts. Through this conclusion, political and practical implication are suggested for the perception of inequality, depression, and deprivation of householder in Korea.
