우리나라 및 외국의 복지용구산업 및 관련 정책을 살펴보고, 복지용구산업 실태조사를 통하여 복지용구 산업의 시장규모, 제품별 생산 및 수출입, 산업경쟁력 등을 파악하고, 복지용구산업의 활성 화 방안을 논의
Assistive products for elderly people have faced new environment since the July of 2008 in which the long term care insurance was introduced to support the activities of elders. Currently 17 categories of 699 products are in long term care insurance service. Although assistive products occupy only 2.3% of total expenditure of the insurance, its importance is expected to grow as the speed of population aging increases. Therefore, even if its current market size is relative small, we believe that we need to prepare strategies for the development of the assistive products industry. In this report, we analysed the institutional background and current operation of the assistive products in the long term care and we compared it with other countries, such as Japan, German, U.S.A.. We then surveyed the industry to know the current industry situation, to estimate the market size and to know their opinion concerning industry policies. Finally, we proposed some suggestions for the development of the industry.
