| dc.description.abstract | 건강은 삶의 질 향상을 위한 필수적인 구성요소로 건강증진 자체는 소중한 목표라 할 수 있다. 그러나, 경제적인 관점에서도 건강증진 추구는 주요 아젠다로 자리매김할 수 있다. 건강수준의 향상은 인적 자본의 질적 제고를 가져오고 근로자의 생산성에 긍정적인 효과를 기대할 수 있으며, 궁극적으로는 경제성장에 기여할 수 있기 때문이다. 건강과 경제성장과의 관계를 분석한 많은 연구들은 건강증진이 경제성장에 효과적인 영향을 미친다는 근거를 발견하여 제시하고 있다. 건강증진은 근로자의 육체적·정신적 역량을 강화시켜 생산성의 향상을 가져오고 소득의 증가를 실현할 수 있다고 주장한다. 소득이 증가하게 되면 교육이나 훈련(training)의 양적·질적 제고를 도모할 수 있는 투자가 보다 활발하게 이루어지고, 또한 물적 자본 형성에도 긍정적인 영향을 미치게 되어 경제성장에 기여하게 되는 결과를 추론할 수 있다. 이와 같이 건강증진은 주요한‘투자’이며, 사회·경제적 발전의 필수요소라 할 수 있을 것이다. 본 고는 건강수준과 경제성장간의 관계에 대한 문헌고찰을 수행함으로써 경제성장의 결정요인으로서 건강투자가 지니는 의미를 살펴보고자 하였다. |
