노인1인가구의 여가활동 유형 및 여가동반자 유형이 여가만족도에 미치는 영향: 성별차이의 탐색

Abstract

본 연구는 노인1인가구의 여가 실태를 고찰하고 여가만족도와의 관계를 토대로 삶의 질을 향상시킬 수 있는 제언을 하는 데 있다. 본 연구에서는 2019년 생활시간조사에 참여한 혼자 살고 있는 만 65세 이상 노인 1,472명의 시간일지를 분석하였다. 분석 방법은 기술통계, 서열 로짓 분석을 활용하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노인1인가구의 여가활동은 주로 ‘혼자’ ‘미디어를 활용한 여가’에 치우친 특성을 보인다. 둘째, 노인1인가구는 성별에 따른 여가시간 사용에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 남성이 여성에 비해 더 많은 시간을 ‘혼자’ 보내는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 노인1인가구의 여가동반자 유형별 여가만족도는 남녀 모두 ‘가족이 아닌 타인과 여가’를 할 때 여가만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것을 보여줬다. 이러한 실증 결과를 바탕으로 여가활동을 활용한 노인1인가구의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 제안을 했다. 마지막으로 연구의 한계를 제시하고, 후속 연구에 관한 제언을 하였다.

Using data on 1,472 adults 65 or older living alone who participated in a 2019 time use study, we attempted to understand the relationship between their leisure activities and their satisfaction with them. We found elderly people spent most of their daily time on media use. Furthermore, these elderly females and males mainly spent their leisure time alone. It would cause social isolation and depression. This study shows that in older adults, leisure activity type affects leisure satisfaction. Leisure satisfaction for both males and females in the elderly was higher when they were sharing leisure activities with others such as friends or neighbors. This study suggests that the local social system should be developed to support the elderly with various leisure programs and opportunities to help them build up relationships in the community.
