| dc.description.abstract | 이 글에서는 남성과 여성의 신체이미지 왜곡과 외모관리 행동의 차이를 분석하였다. 여성은 남성에 비해 비만율은 낮지만 실제 자신의 체형을 더 크게 인지하는 신체이미지 왜곡률이 상대적으로 높았다. 특히, 10~20대 여성의 신체이미지 왜곡률이 매우 높았는데, 특히 과대왜곡을 보이는 여성의 경우 불건강한 행동이나 미용성형 방법으로 외모관리를 하는 비율이 높았다. 이러한 신체이미지 왜곡과 불건강한 외모관리 행동은 우리사회의 여성 외모에 대한 압박과 기준에 기인하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이 분석 결과를 통해 여성의 신체이미지 왜곡과 불건강한 외모관리를 줄이려면 여성 외모에 대한 긍정적 인식 제고와 사회적 기준에서 벗어난 외모에 대한 평가와 차별 근절 정책을 다양한 분야에서 강화해야 함을 시사한다. |
| dc.description.abstract | In this paper, we analyze the differences between male and female body image distortion and appearance management behaviors. Women have a lower obesity rate than men, but the distortion rate of their physical images are relatively high. In particular, women in their teens and 20s have a very high rate of body image distortion, and among women with excessive distortion, the proportions of unhealthy behaviors and cosmetic surgery to manage their appearance management are the highest. It is confirmed that such body image distortion and unhealthy appearance management behaviors are attributed to the pressure and standards on the appearance of women in our society. The results of this analysis suggest that the government should strengthen policies in various fields to raise positive perception of women's appearance and eradicate discrimination against women's appearance that deviates from social standards. |
