dc.description.abstract	장기간 지속되는 저출산 현상을 둘러싼 우려가 커짐에 따라 더욱 적극적인 정책적 대응을 요구하는 목소리가 높지만, 최근까지 한국 사회에서 진행된 인구변동에 대한 이해의 수준은 여전히 제한적인 상황이다. 이 연구는 우리나라 인구변동의 과거 추세와 향후 전개 과정을 모니터링하여 인구 현상에 대한 이해를 높이고 인구변동에 대응하는 정책의 수립과 평가의 기초 자료를 제공하고자 한다. 인구변동의 다양한 측면들을 종합적으로 살펴보기 위해서, 첫째, 인구변동 모니터링의 이론적 기초와 기본 구조, 인구변동 모니터링 자료원의 종류와 특징 그리고 자료 구축상의 쟁점들을 검토하였다. 둘째, 인구변동 모니터링을 주제별로 구분하여 인구변동 요인들에 대한 모니터링, 인구의 성장과 구성 모니터링, 지역사회 인구변동 모니터링, 미래 인구변동 모니터링, 인구통계 모형을 활용한 인구변동 모니터링을 검토하였다. 마지막으로, 인구변동 모니터링 추진 과정에서 등장하는 주요 쟁점들과 과제를 논의하였다.
dc.description.abstract	This study conducts a comprehensive review of demographic indicators/models and provides the framework for strengthening the demographic evidence base. Firstly, we discuss the theoretical background and conceptual framework for demographic monitoring. Secondly, we provide a detailed overview of monitoring for 1) the components of demographic change, such as fertility, mortality, and migration, 2) population growth and structure (composition), 3) regional-level demographic change, and 4) future demographic change. We also review the development and use of demographic models for monitoring demographic change. Finally, this study discusses emerging issues and challenges in planning and managing monitoring activities.
