dc.description.abstract | 스웨덴 노년층을 둘러싼 흔한 이미지는 가족관계가 얕고 약하게 되었다는 것이다. 이 논문에서 우리는 이들 노년층의 가족 간 유대 관계를 면밀히 살펴본다. 과거와 최근의 인구 데이터를 활용해 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 오늘날 자녀와 함께 사는 노인은 극소수이나 과거보다 더 많은 노인들이 파트너와 함께 살고 있으며, 자녀를 두고 있다. 또 근거리에 사는 자녀를 둔 노인의 수는 이전보다 더 늘어났다. 일반적인 생각과 달리 노인들은 고립되지 않았다. 시간이 갈수록 외로움을 느끼는 노인도 거의 없었다. 스웨덴 내에서 가족 간병은 점차 증가하고 있다. 간병인의 다수도 고령자였다. 전 세계적 추세와 달리 스웨덴에서 독거노인의 비율은 1980년대 40%에서 오늘날 33%로 오히려 감소했다. |
