청소년의 비만 관련 요인에 대한 다층모형 분석

Abstract

본 연구는 개인수준의 개인요인과 가족요인, 그리고 지역수준의 지역사회 환경요인이 청소년 비만에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 파악하는 데 목적이 있다. 한국아동･청소년패널조사(KCYPS) 중학교 1학년 패널의 4차년도(2013년), 5차년도(2014년), 그리고 6차년도(2015년) 총 3개 연도 자료를 활용하여 고등학생 4,240명의 개인수준 자료와 66개 시군구의 지역수준 자료를 사용하여 다층모형을 분석하였다. 첫째, 고등학생 1학년에 비해 고등학생 3학년의 비만 가능성이 높았다. 둘째, 개인요인에서는 남학생인 경우, 게임과 스크린 시청 시간이 증가할수록, 휴대전화를 많이 사용할수록 비만 가능성이 높게 나탔다. 주관적 건강상태가 좋을수록 청소년의 비만 가능성이 낮게 나타났다. 셋째, 가족요인에서는 가구소득이 높을수록 비만 가능성이 감소하였다. 넷째, 지역사회 환경요인에서는 편의점 수가 많을수록 비만 가능성은 높아졌다. 이러한 결과는 개인수준과 지역수준 모두가 청소년 비만에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되어 이를 바탕으로 청소년의 비만 예방을 위한 함의를 논의하였다.

The aim of this study is to examine whether individual-level factors and community-level factors affect obesity among adolescents. This study used the 4th-year (2013), 5th-year (2014), and 6th-year (2015) panels in Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) for 7th grade students. This study conducted a multi-level analysis of data on 4,240 high school students and 66 cities, counties and communities. As for results, first, compared with 10th graders, 12th graders had a higher risk of obesity. Second, as for individual factors, being male, playing game and screen time, and mobile phone use increased the possibility of obesity. Good subjective health status decreased the risk of adolescent obesity. Third, regarding family factors, higher household income decreased the possibility of obesity. Fourth, as for community factors, more convenient stores increased the possibility of obesity. These results confirmed that both individual- and community level factors affect adolescent obesity. Based on these findings implications about obesity prevention were discussed.
