자연주의 의료에 대한 언론보도와 미디어 프레이밍의 탐색적 연구

Abstract

‘약 안 쓰고 아이 키우기(안아키)’ 사건으로 위험한 건강행동의 사례가 많아지고 있음 에도 불구하고 자연주의 의료가 어떻게 보도되고 미디어에서 프레이밍 되는지에 대해서 는 연구된 바가 거의 없다. 본 연구에서는 자연주의 의료에 대한 언론보도와 미디어 프레이밍 방식을 안아키 사건을 중심으로 내용 분석하였다. 연구자료는 ‘안아키’ 사건이 주요 쟁점으로 떠오르고 그에 대한 수사과정이 진행되는 2017년 1년간의 미디어 자료 를 코딩하여 활용하였다. 연구진은 안아키 사건에 대해 뉴스기사와 심층프로그램을 집 중 보도한 국내 지상파 3사를 중심으로 양적, 질적 특성 및 프레임 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 안아키 사건에 대한 보도량은 시기별로 뚜렷한 추세를 보였으며, 주로 직접취 재 방식에 의해 이루어졌고(p<.05), 지상파 3사간 뉴스기사(p<.05)와 심층프로그램 (p<.001)에 사용된 정보원의 차이가 있었다. 지상파 3사별 뉴스기사의 보도에 대한 미 디어 프레임의 차이는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았지만 심층 프로그램에서는 미디어 프레 임의 차이가 상이하게 나타났다(p<.001). 이번 연구는 미디어로 인한 의도되지 않은 건강 영향을 막기 위하여 보도에 대한 가이드라인을 세우고 건강 정보가 시청자들에게 올바르게 소비되도록 노력하는 것이 필요함을 보여준다. 이를 위해 헬스 커뮤니케이션 의 역할을 강화하고 소비자들이 건강정보를 균형 잡힌 시각으로 판단할 수 있도록 있도 록 돕는 미디어 환경이 요구된다.

Despite the increasing number of dangerous health behaviors as a result of ‘Raising a Child Without Medicine (Anaki)’, there is little study on how naturalistic medicine is framed. We investigated the media reporting and media framing method of naturalistic medicine based on the case of Anaki. The research data is based on the data from the year 2017, in which the case of Anaki became a major issue and the police investigation proceeded. We analyzed quantitative and qualitative characteristics and frame of three domestic terrestrial broadcasters who focused on news articles and in-depth programs about Anaki case. The reports on Anaki cases showed a clear trend by time, mainly by direct reporting method (p<.05), and there were differences in information sources used for terrestrial news articles (p<.05) and in–depth programs (p<.001). There was no statistically significant difference between the news frames of the three terrestrial broadcasters (p<.001). The present study revealed that it is necessary to set up guidelines for the media to lead the framing to prevent unintended health effects from the media. In addition, a media environment should be fostered that ensures smooth health communication and helps people have access to unbiased health information.
