There is an extreme imbalance in Korean children’s subjective wellbeing. The objective standard of living of Korean children is above average, as Korea has one of the lowest child poverty rates in the world. Yet Korean children are psychologically vulnerable, and rate their life satisfaction, relational wellbeing, and educational wellbeing quite low in comparison to their physical wellbeing.
