dc.description.abstract	의약기술의 발전과 제도적 인센티브 등에 따라 국내외적으로 희귀의약품의 개발과 그에 의한 비용 지출이 급격히 증가하고 있음. 고가 희귀의약품에 의한 재정 부담을 완화하면서 환자의 치료제 접근성을 보장하기 위하여 각국은 기존 건강보장체계 하에서 환자 개인의 의학적 필요를 고려한 지원체계를 강구하고 있으며, 희귀의약품 사용 과정에서 공급자 통제를 강화하고 대체의약품의 사용 활성화를 위한 제도 개혁을 추진하고 있음. 국내의 희귀의약품 관련 정책은 의약품을 기준으로 급여를 꾸준히 확대하는 방향으로 진행되어 왔음. 향후 정책의 방향은 환자 중심으로 보장성을 강화하고 희귀의약품 사용의 적정성과 재정 투입의 효율성을 높이는 데 주력할 필요가 있음.
