□ 본 연구는 아동빈곤에 대한 세대간 전이, 지속성, 다차원성과 관련된 이론적 접근을 검토하고, 이를 활용하여 아동빈곤을 측정하여 아동빈곤 실태를 다각도로 조명하는 것을 목적으로 함 ○ 아동빈곤에 대한 횡단면적 접근과 소득 중심의 단일차원적 접근을 탈피하여,아동빈곤에 대한 이론적 논의 및 경험적 접근을 확장하는데 기여할 것으로 기대함
The purpose of this study is to examine the aspects of child poverty using multidimensional deprivation indicators in Korea with the 7th Korean Welfare Panel Study. The result from the Latent Class Analysis shows that there are two types of child poverty group in Korea. The first group is classified as households with children who spend a large share of payment for the rental houses from their cost of living. The second group is the households with children who have a variety of deprivation in their lives such as food insecurity, bad housing (but low burden from the payment of rental houses), unstable job security of householder, and so forth. This study also found that there are differences in developmental outcomes of children and parental characteristics across each type of poverty group. Generally, the second poverty group has worst outcomes in child development and parental investment. This result, however, should be carefully interpreted because of data limitations. To suggested the future direction for the child poverty policy in Korea, researchers explored the characteristics of poverty policy for the children in Korea and the relative implications for the policy are suggested.
