dc.description.abstract	양적분석은 분석결과의 명료성에 대해서 누구나 동의할 것이다. 그러나 양적 분석은 측정 가능한 부분을 계량적 분석이 가능하도록 질문을 단순화하는 과정에서 연구 대상자의 복잡하고 다양한 삶의 경험과 인식이 사상되는 한계를 지닌다. 반면, 질적분석은 조사대상자의 인식, 생생한 경험, 변화의 맥락 등을 담은 블랙박스 내부를 관찰하는데 유용하다. 이러한 이유로 최근 질적분석의 중요성이 강조되고 있으며, 더 나아가 양적방법론과 질적방법론을 실용적인 차원에서 통합하여 서로의 장점을 살리는 혼합방법론이 나타나고 있다. 이러한 관점에서 한국보건사회연구원은 2011년 한국복지패널 가구 중 빈곤층 100가구를 표본으로 한국복지패널 연계 질적 패널자료를 구축하였다. 본 자료를 통해 계량적 분석으로 생산되는 수많은 통계수치에 생명을 불어 넣어줄 수 있을 것으로 기대되며, 빈곤의 다차원성에 대한 동태분석을 질적인 방법으로 가능하도록 설계하여 향후 많은 학자들이 다양한 관점에서 역동성 분석을 할 수 있을 것이다.
dc.description.abstract	This study is the third phase of the Qualitative Panel Data on Low-Income Households. The two major characteristics of this study are its unique sample and longitudinal study design. The sample of the current study was driven from the Korea Welfare Panel Study, which would enable researchers to examine selected cases with mixed-method approach in near future. In addition, a large-scale longitudinal study on poverty is very rare and allows researchers to look at the poverty dynamics of the sample. While the data collected for 2011 was archived manually, in 2012~2013 research team established an electronic database where researchers can sort, search and divide data according to their research purpose. Also, a process evaluation of the research project was conducted using focus group discussion. The researchers collected valuable pieces of advice from data collectors, most of which will be used for the next year’s study. The first part of this report includes detailed information about the study design, the methodological approach, and the sample. The second part of the report contains six research articles written by qualitative researchers around the country. These papers demonstrate what can be done using 2011, 2012 or 2013 Qualitative Panel Data on Low-Income Households. This report also includes discussion on research implications for future project and how to use poverty study to better inform policymakers.
